Liquid Gas Ireland has called on General Election 2024 candidates to support a ‘Just Transition’ to decarbonisation that is accessible, affordable and fair for all homes and businesses, particularly in rural Ireland.
In its election manifesto, LGI outlines four key policy priorities:
- Deliver a Just Transition that gives rural households and businesses practical options to reduce emissions.
- Support a mixed-technology approach combining lower-carbon liquid gas and renewable liquid gases with other renewable technologies.
- Improve air quality by helping households move away from high-carbon fuels such as peat and coal.
- Encourage the development of renewable liquid gas production through supportive policy and investment in advanced feedstocks.
