Who we are

Liquid Gas Ireland Company Limited by Guarantee (“LGI”) is the representative body for the LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and Liquid Gas industry in Ireland. We advocate for sustainable energy solutions, promote industry standards, and provide expertise on the role of LPG and Liquid Gas in Ireland’s energy transition. LGI collaborates with policymakers, businesses, and stakeholders to support the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible use of LPG and Liquid Gas across various sectors.

LGI is registered in Ireland (No. 89632) and operates under the governance of its appointed directors and members. Our registered office is Commercial House, Millbank Business Park, Lucan, Co Dublin, K78X5W6

We protect your Privacy

At LGI we respect your right to privacy and we comply with our obligations under the relevant Data Protection laws and have set out full details in this Privacy Statement.  We are a ‘data controller,’ of the information you provide to us. We will never disclose your personal data to any third parties without your prior consent.  By visiting this website, you are accepting this Privacy Statement.  This Privacy Statement also applies to processing undertaken by LGI and its affiliated policy groups.

Collecting your data

We collect both personal data, such as names, email addresses, and phone numbers, and non-personal data, such as browser types and IP addresses, to enhance our services and ensure a seamless user experience.  A user can access our site without providing any information at all. Services that currently require some form of sign up include a member signup. The information collected when a member signs up for a service can include an email address and name plus other contact details. We do not follow a user's browsing path outside of our websites. You should remember that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online, your information can be collected and used by others. Although we try to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.

Information Automatically Logged

We log your IP address, browser's user agent, and referring address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our website and to identify unique users. Your IP address is also used to gather broad demographic information.

Social media, blogs, reviews, and similar services

Any social media posts or comments you make to us will be shared under the terms of the relevant social media platform (e.g. Facebook, X or LinkedIn) on which they are made and could be made public by that platform. These platforms are controlled by other people, not us, so we are not responsible for this sharing.  Any blog, review or other posts or comments you make about us, our products and services on any of our blog, review or user community services will be shared with all other members of that service and the public at large.

Complaints

If you have any concerns about how we process your personal data, please contact us via the 'Contact Us' method so that we can attempt to resolve the issue. If you believe we have not satisfactorily addressed your concern, you may contact a supervisory authority. You can request to restrict the processing of your information under certain circumstances. We reserve the right not to comply with any requests we receive where we are lawfully permitted to do so, especially if we reasonably believe a request to be malicious, technically challenging, to involve disproportionate effort, or to be harmful to the rights of others.

Disclosure of information to third parties

LGI may share personal data with third parties including organisations and or partners with (for example, to run events with), industry groups, national and international officials, media and commentators including law enforcement agencies in compliance with our legal obligations. Where these third parties are processing personal data on our behalf we will apply the appropriate data processing clauses in our contracts with the third parties as required by data protection laws. Where those third parties operate as independent controllers, they, and not we, are responsible for the processing of your data.

Retention

In accordance with our legal data protection, marketing and privacy obligations, we will only retain your information for as long as we actually need it to achieve the purpose(s) for which we obtained it in the first place.  In some circumstances we may store your personal information for longer periods of time, for instance where we are required to do so in accordance with legal, regulatory, tax accounting or necessary technical requirements or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation.  We will then either securely delete it or anonymise it so that it cannot be linked back to you.

Newsletters

In the event newsletters are created and distributed, they will serve as a means of providing updates, insights, and relevant information to subscribers. The distribution of newsletters will comply with applicable data protection laws and individuals will have the option to unsubscribe or manage their preferences at any time.

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100 per cent secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, LGI cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
